(no subject)
recently i have taken residence here. i am actually not minding all that much bc i am making money and having fun and not being lazy and lying in bed and watching law & order all day and eating string cheese. friday night was hilarious because we decided to start drinking at like 8:45pm. we headed down to the earl and sat outside on the porch and watched people and yev and i had bloody marys and we all drank beer and talked and lindsey came to meet us and she fought with cocker about being a mechanical engineer because he was like "you don't look like one" and it was funny and there were boys with tattoos lurking around and cassie's hair fit in- for once. finally cassie got antsy and we left to check out the show at the echo lounge. the black lips. they are really funny to see- some punk kids from dunwoody who get trashed and throw up on stage, but there was a cover and half of us are now "unemployed/broke recent college graduates" so instead we went for a drink at the flatiron ($6 pitchers of pbr) and then headed to a party downtown at jimbo and everetts.on the way there we all decided to "get crunk" in the car which involved brennan, cassie, and kwame dancing in the back seat and then grabbing my shoulders and shaking me around in the drivers seat. yev got to be the dj. the party was in a huge gold building right near underground and five points with a doorman and everything. we had to take a separate elevator to the penthouse where there was a rooftop deck and a pool and lots of punch. cassie mistakenly drank too much before realizing that it was flavored with grain alcohol. oops. so she was drunk and being cassie drunk, which is always entertaining. the party was also filled with ga state basketball players and random old school galloway kids who we hadn't seen in forever. we finally left and tried to get crunk again on the way back to fellinis to pick up cars, but by then we were all tired and couldn't handle waffle house so we all went our separate ways.
on saturday brie flew in on standby from nyc and met me at the store and then hung around until i got off work. then she, hendrika, and i headed to the local for some drinks and to meet her friend vlad who is now living in atlanta going to medical school at moorehouse. we ended up drinking a lot and then greg met us and his friend katie from urban outfitters and we sat around drinking and stuff until vlad finally arrived and we headed to the earl for a change of scenery. we stayed until last call and i didn't get home until 4am. oops.
sunday i worked all day and then picked up brie and we went to see garden state with brennan and cassie. even though the end got kind of cheesy and sentimental, the rest of the film was really very good. zach braff was awesome- i had no idea that he could act- and now i have a teensy crush on him. and natalie portman was awesome too- she was really believable, but didn't overpower braff's acting. i was really impressed and was all teary eyed at the end of the movie. we also ran into bonnie who will be teaching kindergarten in CT in the fall. everyone has real jobs.
tonight i have to work again, but tomorrow we are going to a lake and renting a boat and going wakeboarding! i am so excited!
