*le sigh*

Today's a great day. Within all of this shitty rainy weather there is a cloud with a silver lining, calling the sun to shine down on my soul. I can't go into details just yet because I don't want to jinx anything but I'll post more once things become more concrete!

I love how life gives me surprises and keeps me guessing...it's kinda like fishing without a fish finder or Christmas morning when you haven't snooped around before the big day. For me, life's events make the idea that things happen for a reason even more concrete.

Even when the darkest most evil things happen, good always seems to eventually erupt.

I just got off the phone with a very inspiring gentlemen. He was 87 years old and worked until he was 85 because he loved his job. He worked for various museums in the paleontology departments, as well as worked alongside marine biologists and other scientists in many research institutes including Tufts University and Woods Hole. I expressed to him my interest about cephalapods and he told me to go for it and to work in a field that I love. He was moving down to New Orleans near his daughter who was an international puppetier. He had five grandchildren. Some of them were adopted. He was a very fascinating man and he reminded me a lot of my Uncle Andy...his name was Andrew. He recommended a new wine to try and a new book to read. At the end of the session he asked me for my full name and said he'd keep an eye out for it in the future. I really needed that and he was extremely inspiring for me. I wonder if it really was my uncle just trying to give me a sign he was still looking down on me and how proud he was. I'd like to think that and my faith has been restored in a time I really needed it!!!

I also found out that today we are getting a 25 cent raise, effective immediately. That means it's in this week's check! We also get more vacation time and sick time after two years. Today's a great day.

I'm looking forward to this weekend. It'll be good to spend good times with good friends. I can't wait.

:)
