Ugh. I put so much effort into the Fair Edition of the paper this year, checked all my facts and really tried hard to get it perfect, or somewhere close to it. I triple checked my captions for errors and really wanted it to be good...
Just got a phone call from the dad of one of the 4H Royalty people...I got a photo of her sitting on an older gentleman's lap and giving him kisses on the cheek during the Royalty Kiss Auction (people bid on a kiss from the royalty)...everytime she kissed him, he bid higher. It was a very cute gesture and I really liked the photo. The gentleman she was giving cheek kisses to is a member of the local school board and when I saw him last weekend I asked him, to be sure, if he is her grandpa...and he said yes. He's not. Both her grandpas have been dead for a few years now. Great. Talk about big miss from perfect. And it was something I double checked on. And it was horribly wrong. In the special edition of the Journal. Great.
The dad added how awkward it is for everyone now.
