So yesterday I attended the best concert of my life thus far. I went with James, Nean, and Pat to the Agora Theater in Cleveland to see The Black Keys. They were phenomenal to say the least. The first act, The Walkmen, were pretty terrible. Also, I wasn't feeling well when they were performing. Last Thursday I almost passed out at the doctor's office after getting shots, and before they came on I felt the same way. It scared me, because I didn't want to have to leave the show before it even started. However we were right up front against the railing (yes that's right. we rule) so I just rested my head and tried to regain myself. It was sweltering in there, so that's what triggered it. James got the bouncer to give me a bottle of water, and then I felt better. It really sucked, though. I soaked through my clothes completely with sweat, and I never sweat that badly. When The Black Keys came on it was all worth it, though. Dan has a huge beard now. It's fucking awesome. He kept looking right at us the whole time. As far as I was concerned the only people in the audience were the 4 of us.... and the drunk girl who rested her chin on my shoulder at one point. Pretty weird. It was such a powerful set they did, though. I was floored.
So, word of advice to all of my fellow lj'rs: If you ever have the opportunity to go see the greatest thing that's happened to music in the last few years, a.k.a The Black Keys, GO!!!!!!!!! If you have any taste in music at all you will not regret it!
