In the battle between my compulsions and I, the OC-behaviours scored another lofty notch on their rather large belt.
I spent a good portion of yesterday organizing myself in an anal-retentive way. I finally got all my books and stuff together for school, and sad as this is, went through the painstaking process of copying last week's notes into the real notebook now that I finally purchased one (last week's notes were taken in the middle of a cluttered notebook I've been using for two years now that doesn't have room for anything else but was the only source of blank paper I could get my hands on before running out the door to my first class).
I also went through the uber-nerdy exercise of scheduling homework and work time. Now I have a little schedule posted above my desk that lets me know at what time I'm doing homework for which class etc etc. I feel ridiculous that I've plotted out nearly every moment of the day, but methinks it necessary if I'm going to stay on track and get my shit done on time. So there you have it, obsessive-compulsive disorder rears its ugly head and my organization reaches a new and appalling level.
This morning I washed a few dishes immediately after use. This is strange in itself. Weirder still - I dried them and put them away. I don't know what was wrong with me. Perhaps I was sleepwalking. Domesticity makes me feel old.
Here is a list of great things that happened in the past four or five days:
1. Got silly, first-year drunk with a whole whack of girls and became the Sheriff of Melissa. Carried Mobe into the house. Drunk-dialled some people who were less than happy with me about it. Had fun.
2. Went on a date. It was uber-cute. (uber is my word of the day, clearly)
3. Had lunch with Hardy and Dayna. YAY. Man I love those girls.
4. Went to casino - did not lose $$$. This is because I did not gamble. Watched some good blackjack, watched some friends lose some $$$ real fast. Watched boxing PPV. Didn't think I would care but I actually rather enjoyed it. Boxing is a strange but somehow entertaining sport. Observed some interesting behaviour, learned things I did not know.
5. Chastised my neighbours for playing drums at 3am. Felt stupid, but oh well, I won.
6. Cleaned my house. Again. Domesticity is routine. Clean things make me happy.
7. Did laundry. Finally. AND I put it away the same day. This is shocking.
8. Played Game #1 of the intramural soccer season. Won 1-0. Felt happy.
