!) Attending two and a half orientations at once (one for Barnard, one for the Jewish Theological Seminary, and kind of one for Columbia)
@) Meeting world-reknowned scholars, both secular and Jewish
#) Went the the Met(ropolitan Museum of Art) last night... Columbia RENTED OUT the Met for us
$) Going to Ellis Island tonight.... Columbia also rented out the ENTIRE ISLAND and private ferries to get us there
%) Surrounded by published authors, some of the best ice skaters and dancers in the country, business owners, non-profit founders, humanitarians...
^) My room mate is Russian and speaks Russian, English, Spanish and is pretty much fluent in Hebrew.... she is also Jewish and a ballet dancer. I like listening to her speak to her parents in Russian on the phone.
&) My schedule is incredible: Jewish Philosophical Texts (JTS), Hebrew (JTS), adjusting to college life course (JTS), Religion and American Culture (a second choice class, but still great, at Barnard), Intro to Computers (Barnard) and my English seminar re-examining the history of the Americas.
*) New York City has so much of what I need....Spanish speakers, free cultural events 24/7, great public transportation, great food (kosher Chinese, kosher Italian, etc), resources to help me develop my rap
