good news

On this auspicious day (ding, dong, the 8-year reign of idiocy is over), I am very pleased to report that the blood tests and ultrasounds came out perfectly normal, so much so that no amnio is needed after all (insert big sigh of relief), and...it's a boy! The pictures leave, er, no doubt. F will be thrilled, he really wanted a little brother ( ( Read more... )

That sounds wonderful! No extra hazardous tests when you don't need them. Hope this news makes it easier to relax and enjoy the months ahead!

And a boy! That will be so much fun for Forest....and for all of you of course.
Good thing I didn't send the dresses! Newborn is quite young to start with drag ;-)

Thanks, and yes, it's a big relief -- even if the chance of a serious (miscarriage-inducing) problem is 1 in 400, that's a small but real chance that we could have that happen with an otherwise perfectly healthy baby. That is a really cute dress! But not for kids :-). Yep those were the ages that children were dressed as mini adults and treated likewise....you want to play....NO, sit down!

As a girl (and a girl's mother) I am thankful for this age in which we women are not restricted to just dresses and skirts anymore!
