Anybody who ever endured the Red Skelton TV show, or knows the meaning of the word pizzicato, will know Holiday for Strings, which was used as Skelton's TV theme, among MANY other iterations. It was written, I just read, by David Rose, who also was married to Martha Raye (hairpin 1) and Judy Garland (hairpin 2) before growing a full beard, c'est-à-dire, and having two children with his third wife. He also wrote The Stripper, another tune you already know, had a long-term, ah, songwriting partner and... well, what is it that I am insinuating?
