We've had a couple of really tasty meals at the one Mexican place here in town, and a couple that were not nearly as good. Tonight was a good night. Terrific smoky chile colorado on a big plate with chile verde and rice and beans and a new garnish.
This place serves a great sweetish-soury cabbage slaw with the chips and salsa, In addition, tonight we got another little warm wilted tangy salad of cabbage and onion and peppers and celery and cilantro in the center of the big hot plate. When the waiter stopped to see how we liked it, I told him "esta ensaladita al centro es nueva." He asked if I liked it, and I said that it did: "Me gusta mucho, es muy fresca,"which comment he immediately relayed to the chef. (The hostess had notified the kitchen when she sat us, by our table number, but I didn't catch anything else of what she said to the chef about us.)
