Nice sunny (mostly) day, first day off in 8 days.
Went to the mall, eek! but early enough and on Sunday of a holiday weekend, to get trimmer string at Sears and some new prayer flags at the Tibet store. Then to the General Store for a spigot for the water cooler, a spreader for the diatomaceous earth we bought for the garden, an oven thermometer, and some cheesecloth; to the co-op for some organic white truffle oil, a fine baguette, lovely local semisoft cheese and fig-walnut cake; to Sonnenberg's for a roll of NY Italian sausage, two fat rib steaks on the bone, and two pounds of hickory bacon. We were going to stop at Northwest Feed and Pet but their lot and street parking was jammed and I didn't want to face the crowd. Then out to Airway Heights to Yoke's for fresh sweet corn, apples, organic mesclun, a pineapple, and a 5-gallon plastic water bottle, which we filled in the store.
By then we had largely had enough of our fellow humans and came home. Now we have a gurgling water crock on the bar in the kitchen!
