another Tawanka Taco Tuesday

Yesterday for lunch I made kung pao chicken, which turned out very nicely. Today was Taco Tuesday again, a Tawanka tradition that apparently will not die.
I was in the dining room today when two of our Arabic speakers came in and were assessing the degree of halal-friendliness on the buffet. I walked up and pointed at the ham and pea salad and said "No." Salmon and rice salad. "Okay." Mashers and gravy, ok. Taco bar and accoutrements, ok. Sausage pasta toss, no. Fruit, desserts, soup, ok. And so on. They were delighted and grateful.
Wanted to have dinner at another buffet, but the family that runs the Chinese one in Cheney is out of town for a wedding, according to a sign on their dark door. Damn. But then a fresh, hot, cheery Zip's burger, fries, and a shake made for a tasty dinner, Kevin's treat.
