So much to say, not enough time to say it...
Where shall I begin?... My niece is getting married tomorrow so Dan and I went to get her a gift yesterday... They must not really have been paying much attention when they registered their gifts because there were some odd combinations of things on that list that didn't quite go together...
For example... They registered an 8 cup coffee maker (not unusual) but then as accessories, registered a 4-6 cup filter basket and 4 cup filters... Things like that...
Anyway, got them one of the 2 toasters they had listed... Apparently, they like toast...
I'm not looking forward to this weekend visit... My family.... ugh...
Oh well... Should really be getting things together to go but I really don't have the urge to do so... I had originally planned on taking the whole week so I could help with the food and other stuff, but then got the new job and at the same time the drama with the family began so I opted to just go for the weekend so was going to leave yesterday but then... Anyway... I should probably call someone over there to see when they are leaving to go to the site of the wedding since we don't seem to have a place to stay tonight... We'll figure it out...
Onward... Dunce stories are accumulating but that can wait for now... I will say that the dunces have always provided a source of entertainment for me as well as stress and this job is no exception in that department. :-) We'll see if the owner and management there listen to me when I stated clearly yesterday that the one dunce must be gone when I return from my trip on Tuesday... I was assured he would be eliminated... hehehe I really don't expect him to be gone but I've never been an optimist either...
It is no big deal at the moment since I know that they seem to support what I have been doing so I'm sure that the problem is going to be taken care of if not immediately when I get back, as soon as we have a replacement which I do know is being looked into...
I did make sure to have everything prepped and ready to go for the weekend. Specials are done for the weekend for all shifts, and the breakfast buffet items are all cooked so all they need to do is heat them up and put them out... Made a map of the buffet with detailed instructions for them on where everything should go, how it should look and what times of the morning that we have been getting the church people in so they know when to be cooking things so that they are ready...
Even made some cereal bars for them... When we first opened, the owner bought huge boxes of Cheerio's and Special K instead of small, individual boxes of cereal so I needed to get rid of them... So, silly me made some cereal bars out of the Cheerio's last weekend for the buffet just to get rid of the cereal... It is an addictive combination of Cheerio's, brown sugar, honey, butter, almonds and chocolate chips that they are now selling... Instead of me getting rid of these big boxes of cereal, we now need to buy more of them because people are buying these bars like crazy...
Heh...So I made them several dozen and told them if they sell out before I get back, then they sell out... After all, it wasn't a menu item anyway and they need to realize that a special is just that... A special... when it's gone, it's gone and a new special may or may not take it's place....
Well... I should go... Time to get ready and figure out where we are going to stay and how to even get to the place the wedding is at...
Later...
