I went to the W from 98-2001, and I was looking for someone to pass a little secret onto. You seem as good as any other, esp. since I couldn't find a music major, at least you have a guitar it seems.

Anyway, I was slightly imfamous during my time for some of my stunts. They weren't public things, just ways to get away from everything and find a peaceful quiet place in the sun.

Poindexter Music Hall.

If you've ever been inside it, you know it's got funny architecture.

Go inside, go up the front half to the third floor, the windows should still be loose (knowing how well the W takes care of Poindexter), and you can easily open the windows on the top floor facing the middle section of roof. Then, hop out and boom, you're on the roof. Most afternoons that side of Poindexter is completely abandoned, (though choir is probably still taught on the other side in the late afternoon 3-ish still, I'm betting). But it's a nice place to hang out around sunset too, gorgeous view, quiet, peaceful. It was my favorite place to get away.

You can also get there when the building is completely locked down by climbing up the back fire escape on the back side (the side with 4 stories instead or 3), and then walking around the short/little ledge right onto the roof.

I'd like to know someone was still using my favorite reflection/meditation spot. If it's not your thing, and you know any music majors, surely one of them is crazy enough to like it. . we music majors tend to be a bit wonky in the head.

Ow, and also, for them, in the spring, on the unisex bathroom on the 3rd floor (next to last) on the back half of the buildling, in the last stall, in the window, Ladybugs will swarm there in the spring when they just start coming out :-)

Its really awesome to know that people have been scaling rooftops for many years. I myself have gotten myself into a little bit of trouble with rooftops myself. Last fall some friends of mine and I decided it would be a good idea to put a shopping cart on top of Hogarth right over the goose... yeah so after we did we noticed the cops driving through and we scrammed. I was in a little too much of a hurry and jumped off of the roof onto the patio in flip flops and had hairline fractures in my heels. So I too am a little imfamous thanks to rooftops. We have been on the top of the roof of Poindexter, but never at sunset. I think me and my guitar are going to have to make an expedenture of such this week end. thanks for the secret bout the lady bugs. I if there is anything else just drop me an e-mail, I am also a Troubadour, so if you knew any of them or was a troubie yourself I would love to know. Oh, and I know someone in all of the other clubs too. If you need to know anything just let me know! I love talking to alums about the sneaky things that go one around here.
