first day of an actual kitchen class! Culinary Skills 4 Bakers...today we watched Chef Klug make white chicken stock, and do prep for a brown veal stock we're making tomorrow. it was kind of boring today, because the only hands-on thing we did was chop a couple carrots, onions, and celery for the mirepoix. but tomorrow, we're making onion soup with the stock we made today. and, i get to work the savory station at Apple Pie Bakery & Cafe (APBC) tomorrow morning. the only thingthat sucks is that it starts @ 7am. but, i get to leave class after dinner, while everybody else has to clean up, so i guess it's a nice trade-off.
