Cheferos stands roughly 6'4" with workboots on, can (comfortably) reach another 1' higher than that for extended periods, and the maximum safe working height of a ladder is generally 3' shorter than its maximum length. Assuming Cheferos uses the safe ladder ratio of 1:4, meaning a ladder should stand 1 unit of distance out from the wall for ever 4 units of height it rises, what is the shortest safe ladder size Cheferos could rent? Hint: Use the Pythagorean Theorem.
