Went to a potluck at
aeryn42's. Heavy on the veggie theme so I made the latest favorite, spinach/feta pasta. Everyone seemed to like it. Lots of cool people and a variety of yummy veggie food. I am starting to think with my increasing cooking skill and exposure to innovation, I could actually be a veggie if I so desired.
She lived in an interesting old style apartment complex with discreet buildings with narrow exterior walkways and stairs. The layout, architecture, and even the door numbers totally reminded me of playing certain sections of one of my favorite series of games,
Silent Hill.
I've liked all the Silent Hill games, but nothing yet has compared to the experience of the 1st one on the Playstation (not PS2). The fog, the quiet desperation, the feeling of abandonment and otherworldness, the decaying environments, the flashlight in the darkness, and the monster-detecting radio.. oh wait. If you haven't played them or are not a gamer this is starting to sound goofy. Let me speed it up.
Silent Hill was quite possibly the only game ever to literally physically scare me. I would play it purposely in the dark at night and loved every minute. I remember beating the knife-wielding baby ghost gnome things repeatedly with the tire iron for a long time after they were dead for being so PISSED OFF that they scared me so bad! That's gaming gold my friends.
So now the
movie is out. Me want.
