Part Four: Elderly

Jimmy followed as Castiel limped up the stairs. The dog was old - far older than most of his breed ever got - and had slowed down a lot. He was a wonderful companion to Jimmy's daughter Claire, though his loyalty was always to Jimmy first. The dog managed to climb up onto the bed Jimmy shared with his wife and lay down at the end ( Read more... )

Read this over on AO3, and I just wanted to say I loved it.

I can't help but think though that this would result in huge changes to how the Apocalypse events would go. For one, Castiel would understand humans a lot better, two, Dean may actually recognise his vessel as Jimmy. If something akin to the events of "The Rapture" happened (the Winchesters having to protect Jimmy's family), Amelia may remember Dean as well.

Not to mention possible amusement and constant jokes from Dean when he finds out Cas spent several years with a dog vessel.

Thanks, glad you liked it!

And yes, it would change a lot of things. I may do timestamps to show different times when those changes are apparent... dammit, now I wanna do a version of the first meeting in the barn. It's all your fault.

I love love love LOVE it!!! I really like how you wrote Jimmy, especially his interactions with his peers and Dean at school, even with such a short space. And the concept itself is such a great idea, and I love what you did with it.
And Gabriel at the beginning made me giggle so bad <3

Also, I FULLY SUPPORT ^^^^ IN WRITING TIMESTAMPS. I've been thinking of several diff scenarios of the barn scene especially, but I'm super curious to see what you [i.e. the Chuck of this world] have in mind. :D

Hee, thanks. Jimmy was fun - we don't really know much about him, so having free reign to play with his personality was a lot of fun.

And yes, I've been convinced. Once a few other writing things have been wrapped up, I'll do a few timestamps. So easy to talk me into things...

Well, I'll just pop in to say YES PLEASE to timestamps, especially the barn scene! I can kind of picture it, when Dean finally recognizes Jimmy.

Anyway, it was such a cute fic, and an original idea. The lenght was perfect and all in all, I really enjoyed reading this just before bedtime. Thanks for the read! :3

Aw, thanks! I decided to do something a little lighter than usual, and this came out. So glad that it was enjoyable.

Woo, timestamps would be awesome.
This was a lot of fun. I really like the detail of Jimmy making protection statues, and that's what caught Dean's interest.

What are party pies?

Um... tiny little meat pies? I didn't think it was that Aussie, but on reflection you yanks don't really do meat pies, do you?

And yes, I've been bullied into timestamps... maybe will claim another snapshot table. Or, y'know, just write whatever comes to mind whenever.

yummm, meat pies.
Yeah we have meat pies here. Traditional ones are called pot pies because they are served in the ceramic dish they were cooked in. Its not hand food, and would be considered too old fashioned for a teen party.
If we Yanks want meat pies we'd have to go to a Brit pie shop. My town has one called Man Pies! Yep, let the gay jokes commence. My hubbie and I are kind of Anglo centric so we eat meat pies, bangers and mash and welsh rarebit.

Have you figured out in a culture whore yet? LOL.

Ah, I know the type of pie you mean. Party pies are maybe... two inches in diameter, one inch tall. Basically a mouthful. Tend to have them with tiny sausage rolls and pasties too.

Yay, an American with taste! Knew I liked you for a reason. *is half british*
