This was my first Big Bang, and I joined up as a back-up, just in case someone needed an artist. I was immediately given the wonderful story And the North Wind Blows, by Qthelights. I loved doing these pieces, as can be evidenced by how many I did... but if I ever meet Jensen or Misha, I will cut off their hands. With my car keys.
The title card. The owl was the easiest part to draw, since I kept buggering up the perspective on the boys.
Misha sits in a tree, much like a monkey. A note to aspiring artists: Don't trace something in Gimp whilst sitting in bed, using only a mouse, and using your own knee as a mouse-pad. It takes forever to get it looking half-way decent.
Jensen tries to get Misha to climb down from the tree, without much success.
Misha falls out of a tree, and Jensen runs to save him. All together now: Aaaaaaw.
The boys make their way home during a storm.
A quick-ass sketch, which I found funny.
And lastly, an icon of Misha falling.
So there you have it, my humble contribution to this year's Big Bang. Now I'm off to read the finished story, and so should you - there's a whole couple of sections I didn't illustrate, 'cause I couldn't think of anything good enough. Go read.
