I know that I am "losing it" when I start channeling characters for the entertainment of the grandkidlette. He has an Octopus hand puppet and when I put it on I started talking in a thick faux Italian accent claiming to be "Calamari" who waza deleecious witha leetle lemon and aioli. Okay, so I know that calamari is squid not octapus, but the puppet is species dysphoric.
I changed a diaper for the first time today and it was not pretty and felt like it took forever. Baby poop STINKS. A lot. It requires multiple baby wipes as it gets everywhere. Yuuuuuck! At least I avoided being baptized.
Feeding him, I can definitely do. This kid is now completely over baby food. He wants to eat what you are eating. He loves blue cheese, corn bread, sweet potatoes, and chicken. I got a great book called "First Meals" that talks about how to make things fun for kids and how to incorporate new tastes and textures for them. Hopefully between that and having a Pastryho for a grandpa, we can deal with good snack options and the occasional high end dessert. Wishful thinking on my part.
The best part is naptime. I love to nap. We snoozed for a couple of hours this afternoon and I feel like I made some progress in the exhaustion department.
We are babysitting tomorrow as well, so that means more diaper duty (or is that doodie?)
