Here's a sad article today about the 5 million children in Iraq that have been orphaned by the US-led invasion.
I had a look around and found this page on the New York Times website that lists some other figures.
Now I'm no super analyst but if we take the number of detainees which was around 700 at it's peak (let's call this number "the number of people known to hate America" for brevity's sake) divided by the number of years The Bay has been open (around 5 years now) - so let's round up to roughly 200 bad guys per year.
Now we look at the number of young impressionable people who quite possibly didn't hate America but have had their parents killed by America (5,000,000).
Take say 10 years for all of these kids to be big enough to hold and AK-47 and the US government is doing an awesome job of recruiting half a million terrorists per year. Assuming all of the guests at The Bay are guilty but maybe only 1/5th of the kids become terrorists then that's still a 500% increase in bad guys. Nice work guys.
My maths might be all wrong but hopefully some young Keanu Reeves type character at the CIA figures this out soon.
