So this weekend involved a pet parade and a tea party! Yay! Okay, first.. the pet parade is an annual event that happens in Junction City. If you have a pet that won't attack people you can bring 'em along, there were small dogs and large dogs, one kitten in a basket representing the cat population and a few small furry animals in cages that might otherwise be killed, chased and/or eaten by the variety of other creatures. Bunnies, mice, rats, etc. Also, there was one rooster dressed up in a top hat. Some photographic highlights.

Aside from the pet parade was the ladies tea. It's an annual celebration of the women in the church. Everything is prepared by them and baked by them then they are served by the men on the day of the tea. It's very cool and very fun.
Each table has a hostess that decides the theme of the table. This year my mom chose an Indian theme for her table because my brother recently returned from India. Some of the decorations were brought back by him. So.. Without further ado..

They actually laid sod on tarps on the stage/platform that the worship team and pastor stand on. There were faux stone fountains and trees and flowers and shrubs there too. They always do something like that for photos after the event. I think the last time there was an arch with flowers and ivy. The setup this year was very beautiful. Unfortunately someone else took the pictures of us on the bench and they all turned out fuzzy since it wasn't on auto and the person who was taking the photos probably didn't realize that.
Anyway, fun times.
So, yesterday evening I went grocery shopping. I decided to buy a bag of dried apricots because they're basically like candy that's actually good for you. Well, at least there's a lot of vitamin A, some Calcium and some iron. :D that's better than the no vitamins/minerals in candy and they taste fantastically awesome.. Also, I now call them baby ears because my boss called them that one day and it just struck me as being quite hilarious.
