i'll write a post about spring break later, but for now i have a question/situation that you all may help me with.
i've been asking people this all day.
its in regards to a course i'm taking.
so i'm currently enrolled in POSC 101 [Introduction to Political Science]. Our grade in this class is comprised of three tests [all of which are 33% of our grade].
I received my first test back today, and received a 65% on it.
Now, my professor doesn't believe in pluses and minuses [as in a- and b+]. so his grading system is slightly curved in general. he considers "a"s 88-100, "b"s are 78-87, and so on and so forth.
Now, my 65 is only 3 points off from Belgrad's [professor's name] "C". Since Political Science is my minor, i cannot pass/fail this class. Which means that i can either withdraw from it by April 6, or get above a D in the class to get credit for it/not kill my GPA. however, this class isn't required for my minor, all that is required is 3 lower-level Political Science classes.
His tests are comprised of fill-in-the-blanks and essay questions. the fill-in-the-blanks kill me, pretty much because you either straight up know it or you don't. however, he gives the essay questions about a week or two before the test, so you can basically plan/write your essay.
so basically i'm just stuck between taking a chance and pulling a C off, or withdrawing. i think i'm going to talk to my professor about it on Wednesday, either during his office hours, or after class. see how i can work on studying better for his tests, and ask his advice on whether i should drop the class, or if i have a chance to salvage [even though that isnt the right word cuz im not BOMBING the class] my grade.
what do you guys think?
