So yeah....it's amazing how being less than mean to people gets you places. I won't intentionally say their name, cause for some weird reason I think they can still somehow bribe DHL to destroy my new computer, but their identity will be more than obvious soon. I think, after a week of so of praying, and cross my fingers, I tried to find a solution to my delivery problems online. After hours of going through every thread on their customer service forum, I found a stray link to their customer service BLOOOOOOOOOG. There, I actually found some answers to why my computer was being delayed a month. Apparently the paint color required several layers of purty red, which heighted the risks of the paint being ruined by dust, yes I typed DUST. Of course, the first thought that ran through my head is, I just want my computer! I don't care how ugly it looks when I get it!
http://direct2dell.com/one2one/archive/2007/08/03/23340.aspx That my friends, is a link to a very entertaining CS blog entry, complete with a variety of reactions. It's easy to tell who's manically agressive, passive aggressive, and the assertive ones. What an irony, those that were nicer usually got their computers sooner. Good thing I caught on. While the computer company might not be at fault for the delays, since they pretty much only assemble the computers, they should have contacted me about the delays before my birthday. And I do agree with some of the customers, we should all get a little compensation.
Good luck, and Godspeed Michael Dell, with getting your company back together again.
