i went camping this weekend, at the nolichucky, with a fair-sized group of people. it was good times, despite the cold and wet. tomorrow i'll try to get some pictures uploaded, if i have a few minutes in between studying and finishing a print. (sheisskuchen, finishing my print!) right now i'm much too happy to be clean, dry, and home to spend

to get there, you get off the last exit before you start going up the mountains to nc, take a left off the exit, then a right directly after crossing over the interstate, past the hotel and the gas station with the a&w. go down maybe two miles, take a left and go along a skinny windy road following above the river next to the train tracks, and at the end is the campground, right on the river. there are cabins there, and a rafting place, but i don't know much more.

i left home when i was 16 and that's where i went. i got a job managing the Whitewater Cafe over on the rafting side and lived in a tent in the woods there for a year. eventually i got my waiver and did raft guiding too, but my main job was managing that restaurant.
