On the threshold...
...The last hours of 2009, and onward to 2010!
The Good Things:
• Another successful year of college, and looking forward to yet another. I can easily say that my college experience is one of the best things that has happened to me in my life so far, and I'm loving every hard-work, every hair-raising project, and learning all kinds of new things, all the kick-ass teachers that I've had teach me, and all of the good things that are yet to come.
-Special Mentions: Creative Writing, 3D Animation/Modeling classes, Advanced Drawing, Game Texturing. Awesome classes, awesome teachers. <3 I'd say that those were my favorite classes this year around. XD
• Artist's Alley at AWA! OH, I am so, so, so glad that I did this! It has been tremendously fun, and I hugely look forward to doing it again in 2010, with more art and goodies and fun-times. XD Maybe I can even manage to cosplay as Escad next year. Ooh, that'll be fun. XD It was something that I've been wanting to do for such a long time, and I'm hugely looking forward to doing so again.
• Living, loving, laughing and good times had with friends. Special shouts outs and mentions to Myria, her sister Tara, Ruth, Cassie, Beatrice, Makelah, Mari, Amanda, Laura, Hung, Alex, Donovan, Red, Paul, Brandon... Online friends like Ovo, Cande, Darthtasuki, Fushi, Sunblossom, and to everyone else I may have have not listed... You guys are awesome and I love you and I send you all my love and best wishes for the next year. <3 <3 <3
• Mom and Dad, and the cats. Because having their love and support in what I do in life and knowing that they're there makes things a whole lot better, even in the roughest of times. <3 And Dad's doing much better with his health, too. He doesn't always have to be on oxygen so much anymore, and it seems that he's in much less pain, and doing better overall. ^^
• Fandom is always nice. <3 Still love Legend of Mana. Now really love Doctor Who and Seiken Densetsu 3. Got back into Beast Wars. Like I said, fandom is always nice. <3
• Getting to meet up with a former classmate who now works at Naughty Dog as a character artist, doing the kinds of things that I want to do one day. And he remembered me! It was a fantastic experience and I'm glad to have taken the opportunity to speak with him about how to make it out there. Thanks Bryan, for the inspiration. If you can do it, than so can I! XD
• Life in general. <3
The Bad Things:
• Dad's Health. It was a scary year for us when it came to his health, and it had been rough, especially with the delicate balance between treating his kidneys and treating his heart, and having to have an oxygen machine and so forth... But he's doing better. We're fortunate enough to have health insurance we can actually afford, and have access to the some of the best doctors in the area and the medication he needs. And he's doing, like I've said before. Not perfect, but things are looking up, and he's a stubborn trooper. XD
And the hopes:
• Graduate with my degree in Game Art and Design, hopefully with a spiffy internship under my belt
• Sign up for another year at Artist's Alley for AWA/Cosplay as Escad XD
• Lose weight ¬¬
• Try my hand at dating again
• Continue to create art and improve <3
• Participate in fandom more, such as actually trying to write fanfics again in addition to fanart stuffs
• Life, love, laugh and enjoy life, preferably with friends and family
• Remember that the answer to life, the universe and everything is 42, and that the universe provides to those who try. ^^
Misc. Fun:
• I do believe I may have converted my Dad into a Doctor Who fan. XD
• Avatar is a very fun movie. I've squeed about it in an earlier entry. Also, Sigourney Weaver. The Princess and the Frog is very cute, and it's an actual Disney movie, aside from the Pixar films, that I've actually enjoyed. Have gained a deeper appreciation for the art of 2D animation due to the influence of animator friends, so yeah. I'm not really a fan of Disney, but hey, I can still dig good art. And Avatar... Avatar Avatar Avatar... It has only deepened my enthusiasm for CGI and character art and conceptualization and... and! *fangasm*
• I'm no longer the only EscadxHeroine fanartist on deviantART. <3
• Sierra is an adorable kitty and I love her. She's the kind of cat who's so loving and affectionate, all it takes for one to look at her and she'll start purring. <3 And she's almost always purring!
• David Tennant/The Tenth Doctor is my first Doctor, and I can easily say that, at this current moment of time until I fully know the awesome that is that other Doctors... That he is my Doctor. <3 Thank you, David Tennant. I'm now a full-fledged fangirl of yours.
• Same for Christopher Eccleston. <3
• Sorry to say but... Even though Captain Jack Harkness of Torchwood is much fun, I much prefer Lieutenant General Jack O'Niell and Stargate Command and the Department of Homeworld Security. XD
• I'm going back to working on art now. <3
So yeah. A Happy New Year's, here's to 2010, and to all of the good things to come. ^^
