My TARDIS! Oh, my beloved TARDIS! You've returned! ;o;
Okay, so she still needs all of her application files and preferences reloaded (or reinstalled if needed) so all of my programs can work properly again and I can get back to work... But...
My TARDIS! My TARDIS! Oh my beloved computer! My Mac! I have internet! I have e-mail! I have a shiny new 500GB internal hard drive that's loads better than my old one! I have my nice big wide screen again, my Tomb Raider wall paper! All of my work returned to me that has rescued by one of Dad's backup restores! She has the latest version of Snow Leopard! She has been fixed! ;O;
And now I have Time Machine too. Time to clean up my external drive so it can become a local backup. ¬¬ That can be done tomorrow. Also need to re organize my files. and put them back into backups, and servers, and disks, and what-have-you. That can be done tomorrow too.
Gah. It was such a pain working on my old G4. It was old, and slow. And took forever on simple tasks that would've taken only a few seconds on the TARDIS. And it was just a big pain. I'm surprised I was able work on that machine for as long as I did before getting the TARDIS. Going back and forth between the two is all of the difference in the world.
In truth, she needed a new internal drive. It ran fine, fortunately, during my college years, but issues were becoming apparent, and it just needed to be fixed. Glad to have that out of the way, and with a much bigger drive to work with. So far, everything looks good. The real test will be getting my applications back up and running tomorrow, and all of my preferences restored. Getting email, my work and internet was also important. Also need to see about any unresolved server issues that need to be fixed before completely settling back in. Ah, computers...
Eh, just happy to have it back. ^^
On an unrelated note, went out to vote today in my town's local election. I shall wear my "Georgia Voter!" sticker with pride. XD
