An update!

The CJB Concert at the Sheldon was last night; and it went extremely well. I don't know much about jazz, but everything sounded great to me. Of course, when the faculty joined in, it was absolutely amazing. ...what a great group of musicians. Wow... so incredible.

I played adequately -- I need to practice the music so I'm not sightreading at the concert; regardless, I didn't make any noticable mistakes. The section sounded quite good.

Yesterday was a very disorganized and annoying day, mainly because I lost the music folder I needed for the concert. I was *certain* it was in my car from the trip to Milliken; and thus, I didn't think to check before I had to leave for the soundcheck. Hence, I was very surprised to find it NOT in my car, 20 minutes before I had to leave... OMG... I say the following with much enthusiasm.

THANK GOD FOR CODY HENRY AND JENNIFER LINEK!!

AND FOR BRETT STAMPS HAVING EVERYTHING ON HIS LAPTOP AT SCHOOL!!

I ran into Cody and Jen right in the knick (sp?) of time; Cody got the laptop/files out of Brett's office and Jennifer printed out the music in the music office. You guys are so incredible -- I owe you both a lot. Brett was pretty cool about the whole situation; however, I still need to find that folder somehow -- there was a lot of music in there that was not Brett's and thus not on his laptop. Damnit...

Thus, everything turned out okay. People could've been VERY pissed at me -- but they weren't. They probably should have been, but they're cool. I was so worried about Brett strangling me or killing me with knives.

But anyway... That's what happened yesterday.

I have some very ODD dreams the last two nights.

2 nights ago, I had a dream about Jennifer Linek...

Jen and I were in this large house -- possibly a mansion -- that had lots of old artifacts sitting around. Many of the artifacts were covered in dark, drab cloth. For some reason, we had access to these artifacts and could take them out of the house free of charge. Both of us found large table-top clocks. The clock Jennifer found looked like a brass box with a clock mounted within. On the front of the box was a door which you could open to reveal the clock's face; and on the inside of the door were LOTS of signatures. I don't remember the names or anything -- I just remember there being a lot of signatures. My clock was very similar to Jen's...but it was plain -- no signatures.

For some reason, there was a strange older man standing outside in the yard. He was dressed in a black suit and tophat and was wearing a monicle (sp?). He saw us as we were leaving the mansion; and he confronted Jen to ask her to see the clock she had. Upon examining the clock, he became extremely excited and told Jen it was worth $1,000,000. ...when he opened the door and saw the signatures, he became even more excited and said it was worth 2 million. Obviously, we were both extremely surprised and excited from the news. At that point, I wanted to show the man the clock I was holding. But for some reason, I didn't show him because I was afraid it would be worth *less* than Jen's. ...at that time, I woke up. ...and I thought to myself "Why was I such an idiot? My clock may have been worth a million dollars, and I didn't even show it to the man." Weird dream. I wonder what it means.

Last night, I had a dream about Joe Drex...

Joe and I were on a bridge -- it appeared to be a bridge over a large body of water like the ocean, possibly by the beach. I think it was a boardwalk by the beach. This was a pretty short dream -- all I can remember is that we were both on the bridge and we were singing (writing an opera?) about pencil shavings and staples. Don't ask me to remember the lyrics -- I don't.

I'm messed up...
