One more time with feeling...
Okay...I'm trying NOT to be wishy-washy here, because there's nothing that irritates me more than to have a set deadline, then an extension, then ANOTHER extension, etc. It doesn't seem fair to the people that originally DID meet the deadline, and it's just...wishy-washy.
However, it being Easter weekend and also the end of the year school-wise, I feel like this extension of five days wasn't really enough to make a difference for anyone. I've already received several emails from people saying that they wouldn't be able to meet today's deadline, but that they'd possibly be able to next week.
Here's what I'm proposing. If you DO think you could make a deadline of, say, April 30th, PLEASE comment here and let me know. I'd like to get an idea of how many people this might be helping. If it's not enough to warrant an extension, then I'll just leave the deadline as is. I just really want everyone to have a chance to submit their fics, especially if they're already mostly written, and be able to participate in the poll.
For those of you who might have had to hurry through in order to meet today's deadline, this will also give you an opportunity if you so choose to go back and beef your fic up, or do anything you might like with it.
I DON'T, however, want this extension to just be a means for people to procrastinate and ultimately end up not doing anything. So, if you don't really think you'll give it a shot, and it won't hurt my feelings, then comment and let me know not to expect anything from you. Did I say my feelings wouldn't be hurt? I lied...heh.
