So, my older readers will know that I'd really struggled with my recent weight loss. I was quite thin when I was younger and used it wrong and was... used wrongly because of it. After dropping 45 pounds in the last year I was really worried about how I would react and how people would react to me. After a lot of thought and prayer I came to the conclusion that if I was more attractive to people and beautiful just for God's glory then it was good and right and I was happy.
One of my new LJ friends,
trinitystar, gave me a wonderful poem while I was writing this last weekend regarding singleness and Christianity. I asked her if I could post it here, because I think it perfectly expresses the conclusions I'd reached, and I really thought it deserved a broader audience.
For it's You alone who is the keeper of my heart
And it's You alone who is worthy
And were I to keep this heart of mine locked up
And only Yours
Forevermore
And forevermore
I would be willing
For You are beautiful
You are wonderful
And the strength of Your presence
Is so beautiful
And I am filled
With the very awesomeness of You
For it's You alone who is the keeper of my heart
And it's You alone who is worthy
And were I to keep this heart of mine locked up
And only Yours
Forevermore
And forevermore
I would be willing.
