Stuff that happens on my birthday always perks my ears, so when I heard a few days ago that a famous Taiwanese actress died in a car crash on 01/28, I decided to take a closer look. And WOW. The circumstances surrounding her death and that date are just the strangest string of coincidences I've read about since Abe Lincoln/JFK. Of course, being Wikipedia, I'm taking this entry with a grain of salt, but still a very interesting read.
** WARNING! Her death appears to have a spoiler for "Death Note," so if you're following or plan to follow the manga/anime/movie/novel/videogame/musical/viewmaster etc. you may wanna skip this very interesting read. ;)
It seems strange that she passed away at age 28 on 1/28 (January 28th) and that she was writing about life and death on page 128 in her "Dan Dan" diary book that was published two years ago. Her family memorial was on 2/8 (February 8th).
A magazine was found in the ruined vehicle opened to the page of a Death Note 2 advertisement, the only page that was stained with her blood. This is disturbing because the main character of Death Note, Light Yagami, also dies on January 28th.
In the drama she was filming, she played a girl with heart problems. She was scheduled to film a surgery scene on the 1/28 (January 28th).
In 1989, eighteen years ago on the same exact day, another singer from a group Zhi Ma Long Yan passed away in an accident. She was rushing for a scene.
Her assistant's house number is 128 (her assistant was driving at the time of the accident).
It appears that her death has an uncanny connection to the numbers 1, 2 and 8.

Source More downers from Jan 28 2007: The World's Oldest Living Person died, as well as 3 other famous people I don't know. ;_; And huh, Jan 28th is also World Leprosy Day?? What the heck?? How many other diseases have their own day? I know of World AIDS Day and that's it.
SEGUE TO: SARS fansubs has subbed the Death Note movie, aaand at first, I was going to rant about them using a "theatre rip" since the DVD doesn't come out till March 14th. However, then I learned that the official Hong Kong DVD, which they probably used instead, came out on . . Feb 11th. HUHHHH?? Since when do films get officially released on DVD outside of its country first?? WAZZUPWITDAT?!
( Man, I've been having a tough time keeping up with LJ these days. My favourite time to type is around 8 PM, but lately I've been feeling so drained in the evenings that I keep falling asleep at 8, waking up at 1 and then having trouble falling back. I actually started this and a few other entries a week ago, but could never finish them because I kept nodding off! I feel so old. But anyway, in case you're wondering wazzupwit all the 3 am posts and comments, well there ya go. ;) )
J-Music Video Ticker:
Matsuzaki Nao - Hanabira PV: The simplicity of this video shoot is so . . bizarre . . that it doesn't seem like a music video at all. I've never seen anything like it, and by the end I was thinking, "Hey, that was cool." Worth a look for those looking for something different. :)
Wrestling Ticker:
Macho Man on the Arsenio Hall show: The first meeting between Macho Man and Morgan Fairchild. Ooh yeah!
