I'm COMPLETELY out of the loop again when it comes to Japanese music which I haven't been following in months . . even more so with Western music since my radio died in the '90s. So, thought I'd put a fun spin on catching-up and do a music video shoot-out:

Yeah, I started watching music videos mid-90s and they were better back then. Even bubble gum pop stars with bubble gum lyrics like Britney and the Spice Girls had mostly good videos, and there were several good rap videos too. Maybe it was the rise of the ipod and myspace that deemphasized the importance of music videos . . who knows.

Music video compilation DVDs? Cool, I thought the licensing fees would be too high for them to produce these things. I checked out Atmosphere . . wow, very haunting video. Not sure if I got it all though . . whose picture are they carrying around? And "Just" was awesome, absolutely awesome . . from reading the comments, I'm not alone in trying to figure out what the guy's saying in the end.

I'm not sure if you watched any of my j-pop fillers, but a video that I really found beautiful and moving was Mr. Children's Hero. It's incredible slow and only for the patient, so I was thinking you might be one of the few that would really appreciate it. Kurumi is another classic.

I just watched Yuna Ito's "Stuck on You." It sure is different from her previous songs, but I like it. Feel sorry for her hair though. ;)

Whoa, new video already? I almost thought she might be pulling a Koda Kumi if not for the lack of to-be-continued at the end of this one. :)

It's a beautiful video with a very beautiful lady . . but I still like Stuck on You better since I prefer wacky over serious. ;)
