[Stickler filler] Bad English Teachers

Being a stickler can be a gift and a curse. Working on the high school newspaper, it was a gift, as I could spot mistakes in an article with a brief scan. But since leaving high school, it's been a curse. I notice mistakes every day, and I no longer have the power to correct them. Reading myspace and youtube gives me a headache. Ahh, misused apostrophes, those bugs me the most. >_<

See, that's exactly what I'm talking about. Making mistakes on your blog or comment is fine, but when it's your job and you're actually getting paid to write something, then I think you should proofread a little more than usual.

You should pick up the recent bestseller, "Eat, Shoots and Leaves," by Lynne Tuss. It's actually where I picked up the stickler term, and she has a ton of amusing stories about bad punctuation. There are people like us out there! ;)
