Oh, Nova. Man. I've been following its slow collapse through a friend who was working there. Most of the workers haven't been paid for months. I guess the problem with Nova is that people pay for a package of lessons up front -- so they need to be continuously expanding to make a profit. Once they hit a saturation point, they weren't signing up new people and they weren't making any profit. There's a really interesting blog entry about the business angle here.

Yes, I get to use my Nova pic one last time! Thanks for the link. Y'know, if I was the Nova boss, I think I could've avoided this problem by making the contract and refund policy more detailed and explaining it to the clients clearly before they signed. Actually, if I was boss, I'd make a Nova point card and award them limited edition Nova figurines whenever they renewed. The Japanese can't resist those. ;)

This is not because all men are inherently evil, but because there are too many nasty men that take the bus and have tried to pick me up in the past.
Yeah, I hate how some men cause the rest of us to be stigmatized as wolves. I was hoping that being on the "University bus" we could look past the sexes and speak as students from the same school.
We're much more receptive at cafes, bookstores, and supermarkets :)
I'd actually be way more shy to talk to people there. ^_^;

I can completely relate to these two sentiments. I am the same way, so much so that it made me prefer taking the route of being an elementary teacher. Good luck in being more outgoing. You've already taken a step forward. :)
