Inoue Mao in Vancouver O___O

Jun 17, 2007 23:45

Inoue Mao is the greatest young actress in Japan right now. Sadly, she's not the best at choosing good scripts . . her next role is in a drama called "First Kiss," where she plays a terminally ill girl IN LOVE. This script is just too creative for our universe. =/

That aside, I was SHOCKED when I was browsing Craigslist and found this post:

CULTURALLY DIVERSE EXTRAS FOR AIRPORT SCENE

Agency is looking for background performers (EXTRAS) to play passengers, pretending to be at the Los Angeles International Airport (shooting at YVR) for a Fuji Television drama entitled "First Kiss".

We are looking especially to create a more multicultural atmosphere and hope to book many individuals from an African Canadian or Hispanic background.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME, IT IS A SIGNIFICANT BOOKING that pays an hourly wage.

The requisite running-in-the-airport scene, filmed in my backyard?? Obviously, I applied immediately . . I don't care if I'm not African or Hispanic, I don't care if they don't pay me, I don't care if I'll just be an out-of-focus speck on the other side of the terminal, I don't care if I sound like a fangirl. Just to be part of a FujiTV drama, starring Inoue Mao, at the megahuge GEKKU hour, is an opportunity that can't be passed up for any jdrama fan.

And my chances? Next to zero. As you can see by the date, it was posted two weeks ago. >_< Why did I just have to stop browsing Craigslist for the past two weeks???

P.S. Whatever happens, it's still awesome news that a jdrama production is trying to be more "multicultural." There were scenes in Last Christmas and Hana Yori Dango that bugged me to no end.

Wrestling ticker: RIP Sensational Sherri. It's too bad wrestling is so unpopular with mainstream that no one's reporting about this incredible legend's passing. Even wrestling itself is too concerned with Vince McMahon's storyline death from last week to give her the usual front page tribute on its website. -_-;
