been walking my mind to an easy time

Ah... life. It's been so long since I've actually blogged and not just copied and pasted a random essay. Sorry folks.

Just to give everyone an update:

- Recently a high school graduate, ranked number 2 out of 47. I might just post my salutorian speech on youtube, watch for that.

- Class President, FCCLA President, FCS President, Stu. Co. President, Yearbook Editor, Beta Club President, and Historical Soceity President... oddly the only club I was not president of was the FFA.... moo.

Yesterday, June 14, 2008 my dad lost his fight with liver cirrosis. He was 52. He didn't get to see my speech or see me graduate, but I saw him slowly fade away. He was a great man and here's a few things I remember of him that were good, not the bad:

- Bebow Bear Stories, told with his fingers when he tucked me in.

- The Claw and running away from him when he so tried to "get me"

- The time we baked cookies and he kept saying, "There too hot, don't touch!" and he ate every single one hahaha.

- How everytime he felt bad he said he felt as bad as a hickie hoo.

- How he called me "Bootsy", called mom "Turkey", and called Wesley "Scooter"

- Dancing to James Taylor on the living room floor and the kitchen haha

- The night he sung "You've Got a Friend" by James Taylor to me while crying. :(

- During my 16th birthday when he decided to interupt us and tell us the corniest joke ever, "Why was 6 afraid of 7?" "Because 7 eight 9"

- How he called every nurse "Katie" when we first when to the hospital.

- The times we went fishing

- The time I caught two bass on one hook and he was so VERY proud of me

- The times he pushed me on the swing and I finally got that leaf on the tree I had been reaching for.

- The time I got to ride with him on the tractor.

- The time when I was three and he said, "How did you get so pretty?" and I said, "My momma made me pretty, honk!" (I was trying to say, "Hunk".) And how he asked me that up to a couple months ago and he always laughed.

- The times he told me I looked so beautiful in dresses and he'd just cry.

- The time he told Stephen to "Stand up boy, I wanna see how tall you are!"

- The times he told me to give him a "kisser" on his cheek and I'd always give him 3, cause two was just not enough.

- The last fried bologna sandwich I made him before we took him to the hospital and the last bowl of strawberry ice cream he'd ever eat a couple of days before... well..

- The way he said, "Good deal", "I hate that!", and  "Oh, I'm crazy about you!"

And here I am, stuck... in the middle of two converging worlds. I'm going to the University of Mobile this Fall. It's three hours away from home and I don't know how momma will handle it all by herself.

I could've written this all so more poetically but I'm so numb I'd rather not.

Love you all.
