dont you hate it when ur having a good day and someone says something, not necessarily intentially mean, that totally ruins your day??
meh.
well heres my wee little journal entry we did today in religion (we had to write a sermon like Larry did in the book)
Picture this: You’re walking along the road at night on your way home when all of a sudden someone jumps out from behind you and stabs you in the back. You fall to the ground and look up only to see your best friend smirking at you. This seems a little extreme but in reality this is almost exactly what some of our relationships with our friends are like.
Why do we feel the need to gossip about other people when their backs are turned? Does it make you feel better about yourself? Or are you just so full of malice that you see this as an ok thing to do. Its hard to find someone to trust when people, as soon as you’re not around, start saying how much of an idiot you looked today in your new jacket or how you’re a suck-up for raising your hand it class when no one else did. Are we really THAT spiteful? People have this constant need to gossip about other people for some odd reason that I really do not comprehend.
A lot of times people talk about other people they hate, but its really shocking when someone who is your friend talks about you. What kind of a friend are you if as soon as they walk away, your friendship with them dissolves away and you start talking trash about them? You’re one awful friend if this is you. Would you like someone you considered your friend talking about you? Of course not, nobody does, so why do you do it?
How about this: for ONCE try to walk away when talk like this happens or if you’re brave enough, stick up for your “friend”.
Honestly, who CARES if someone wore something not trendy! Who CARES whose fault it was when Butch and Suzy Sunshine broke up! Who CARES if the most popular girl in school drove to school in a run-down hatchback! Is your life really that uninteresting that you need to talk about the pointless unimportant things that happened that day? Next time, try to do something more productive than stabbing your friends in the back.
