1. Pick a character, pairing, or fandom you like.
2. Turn on your music player and put it on random/shuffle.
3. Write a drabble related to each song that plays. You only have the time frame of the song to finish the drabble; you start when the song starts, and stop when it's over. No lingering afterwards!
4. Do ten of these, then post them~.
Okay, I’ll start with my own characters first, for warm-up, cause they’re the easiest for me to write. I’ll go on to writing my fandoms soon (I wanna do a LotF one! I miss LotF ;-;)
So these would be my doll/kinomori/SOUL characters. #1-4, 9, 10 are Lowell/Fioretta-centric, 5 is a group thing, 6 is Micah, 7 is Iodine, 8 is Marcaine and Lowell. Many (all) of them are rushed... it was kinda difficult, but not as hard as it seems, it's fun though!
Hawthorne Heights - Pens and Needles
Lowell keeps a diary, and sometimes, in that diary, he wrote letters, letters to her, that is.
Granted, he knew she’ll never ever find it, never mind read it, and a part of him is glad for this, some of the letters are just… whiney, annoying, sappy, he would raise his eyebrows at them and wonder when the hell did he write all that? He must’ve been very drunk or very depressed.
But part of him wants her to read it, at least, the better ones. Part of him wants her to reply to him and tell her how she feels as well.
Hawthorne Heights - I Am On Your Side (this is some sort of freak coincidence, I swear)
He sometimes has nightmares about it, a dark empty space, and her bloody corpse in his arms. Silly isn’t it? To be haunted by a past life, of all things. But he deserves it, he feels that he can’t be forgiven, not yet, and maybe, as Iodine said once to him, he’ll never be forgiven.
But this time around, he thought, as he recovered from his dreams, he won’t let it happen again, this time around, he’ll make sure he’ll always be on her side, this time around, he’ll be there for her.
Chieco Kawabe - Sakura Kiss
Fioretta told Lowell once, that her ideal first kiss would be one under dozens of blooming cherry blossom trees, surrounded by pink petals, a sweet fluffy image.
He then pointed out that they live in a country where there’re no such things like dozens of cherry blossom trees in one area, and she pouted, yet agreed with him, he’s right, to have such a moment, they would have to go for a vacation to the far east and have their first kiss there, on spring too, they barely have any holidays during spring time in their school.
So they made do under dozens of autumn tree, surrounded by falling leaves, it may not be a pink fluffy image, but it’s sweet in its own little way.
Elvis Presley - I Can't Help Falling in Love with You
In many ways, they’re very different, looks, interests, personality... often, they’re polar opposites. That perky blonde girl and that emo kid, many often say (Lowell would grumble under his breath “I’m not emo”, Fioretta would pat him on the back and tell him not to worry about what others say), how did they ever end up together?
Truth is, neither Lowell nor Fioretta know, it’s simply just happened, and there had never been a reason.
Suikoden III - Everyone's Smiling Faces ~108 Stars of Destiny~
When the four of them walked by a poster, a tourism one spread over the entire wall of the underground passage, with many local people’s smiling faces, welcoming the tourists to our country, they smiled a bit, not because it makes them warm, fuzzy and a part of a friendly place, but because, all of them were amused.
“Is it possible to have that many people to smile at once? Like, while being squished like that?” Uta was the first to make a comment.
Marcaine shrugged. “I bet they all started screaming at each other after that, like, ‘watch it bitch! You’re stepping on my foot!’, or something”, he snickered.
Uta laughed, “that’s funny, really!” Lowell said nothing, yet smiled and nodded in agreement with the small girl.
“Some of them look like they didn’t shower in the morning”, Micah noted. He pointed to a rugged man on the poster. “Is it even right to put him here? He looks like a hobo who would pull out your daughters’ intestines and sell it at the market as sausages.”
“Micah! That’s disturbing”, Marcaine said, despite what he said, the tone of his voice and his face showed he was thoroughly amused by the comment, Uta too, smiled at this, it’s just so Micah to make such a disturbing comment, at least around them, they love him for who he is, really.
“Still”, Lowell said, his face turning slightly more serious, “it’ll be nice.”
All of them stopped for a while. “You’re right”, Uta nodded, her smile was not an amused one anymore, but rather, a content one. “It’ll be nice.”
Melissa Etheridge - I need to wake up
Childhood, he decided, was a wonderful dream, it was good, fun, and everything just seemed so easy and convenient. Things started to go downhill once he has a two-digit number for his age, it’s not only him, he decided. Everyone is probably like this too.
But he hit the bottom of the slope, or so he thought, when he was fifteen. When he met, when he met him, in the eve of his fifteenth birthday, and he was told of his existence, he found it rather cruel, being told what his meaning was.
He wants to find out on his own, but as the other said, there was no time; he needed to realize his purpose as soon as possible, his duty can’t wait.
Frederic Chopin - Nocturne for Violin and Piano
Iodine has always liked classical songs; he also prefers his songs with no lyrics, as lyrics tend to annoy him, because they’re just never very realistic. He also usually prefers grandeur pieces, one that makes you feel like you’re in your own big concert hall. He’s a small boy, so he prefers big things.
But during those quiet, solitary days, when he feels death is closing in on him, he prefers something much less grand, much more quiet, something like Chopin’s Nocturne for Violin and Piano, as it makes him feel that there’re two there who would be there to mourn the loss, and accompany him to his final journey.
Story of the Year - Wake up the Voiceless
“We’re not heroes are we?” Lowell asked solemnly, one cloudy evening.
“Well, I’d like to believe we are”, Marcaine said, with a small smile.
“We’re voiceless pawns, aren’t we? No one will remember us. Years after our death, our names will be washed off our gravestones.”
Marcaine looked up to the sky, a storm is coming, he noted to himself, but it never cancels any of their appointments. “Does it matter to you?”
“No”, Lowell said softly.
“You’re not a pawn”, the hazel-eyed boy said. “Because you’re doing what your heart wants you to do, right?”
“I guess”, Lowell said weakly, he took out his razor blade and played with it for a while. This wasn’t his destiny, he wasn’t part of this team before, no, but this is his choice. “Come on Mar”, he got up. “I think it’s time.”
Chicago - You’re the Inspiration
Let’s face it, Lowell doesn’t like life too much, it’s okay, you know, kind of bad, but it’s just about there. He doesn’t really care about his life, it’s not like he wants to die, it’s just that he doesn’t give shit about living either. But he’s still alive, breathing and moving perfectly, even his left hand, after the wrist-abuse he put it through, is still functioning well.
He has his reasons to live. Reason number one; if he dies, no one would take care of his cat. And then reason number two; that girl, she may be ordinary to others, but she’s his beloved, his personal inspiration to keep on living.
Faith Hill - There You’ll Be
They haven’t gone very far, they’re still at kisses, most which are short, sweet and shy. But it’s alright with both of them, kisses did just fine. What they long for was each other’s presence, and for them, that’s about enough. Space, too, is something they both respect, neither clings to each other like lost puppies, but they love each other’s presence, they love the little smiles and little handhelds, it’s enough, it’s more than enough, it’s bliss.
There’s no need to rush, both realized. For if they truly belong together, they still have eternity to spend.
