Wine Woes
Two years ago at Thanksgiving my mother came out for a visit with my sister and she sampled some wine from a local vineyard that she really liked. It is was the Blackberry wine from Horton Vineyard http://www.hvwine.com/chateaulecabin.htm so last year when we went out there for vacation with them on the lake, I shipped a case out. Most of the case was for our consumption while on vacation, but I added a few bottles for her to stash for a special occasion. Well this year she wanted 2 cases. 1 of blackberry and 1 of a mixed sampling. So in June I went to the VA wine festival and lugged home nearly 4 cases of wine for both households. I tried to ship Mom's half recently and one case was damamged and 1 case was lost. The damaged case (blackberry) came back to me missing 3 bottles and now I have to file a claim for both the missing bottles and the missing case. We go on vacation in 2 weeks. So I bit the bullet, called the winery and had them ship replacement cases out to her. Next year she orders from the winery directly, forget the tiny discount I got for ordering it at the wine festival. It's not worth it.
