Update time, but definitely nothing special. =] Hope everyone had a merry christmas, and will have a great new years. I like this time of the year, im not sure if its cause of the weather, or sometimes how chillishly gloomy (but not sad) the days are sometimes, im not quite sure what it is. I have never been one for supar sun, and warm and sunny days.. im actually the total opposite. I guess thats kind of weird, but thats ok =].
I have break until Jan 5th, which I thought was a long time, but I realized a lot of my friends start back later than that, so I guess its not as long as I thought hah. Speaking of school, I still enjoy it.. I might transfer to auburn or montevallo in a year or so, but I am not sure. I have no direction in my life lol, im not even sure what I want to do or study =X. I don't really have anything to update, so I think I'll steal something I saw from someone else's journal (sorry drew =X).
Im going to list my top 5 cds that I have got this year, and then one I was extremely let down by, and then a band that I wish would fall off the planet. And then, you comment, and list yours (doesnt have to be 5), and we'll see how things go, or if I missed anything =]. So here goes, in no particular order:
1. Green Day-American Idiot--Extremely suprised by this, I am an avid green day fan, but this beat even my standards. A+
2. The Used-In love and death--Great cd, I always have liked the Used, and this cd was a great follow up. A+
3. My Chemical Romance-Three cheers for sweet revenge--Extremely wonderful cd, can't say much else. A+
4. Interpol-Turn on the bright light--Interpols first cd, it is definitely good. Check out "Stella was a diver and was always down" and "Obstacle 1". Both great songs. Their new cd, Antics, is also good, I think I like their first better. A
5. Beck-Sea Change--I got this cd earlier this year (around July), because a friend recommended it. Now, I really dislike Beck's new stuff, but this cd has to be one of my favorites. It really is a work of art, but its also extremely sad. Heartbreak is a common topic in it (Since it is about his cheating girlfriend of 7 years), and its not one to listen on repeat over and over, because it could make even a clown cry. A
That was hard, it took quite a lot of thinking.. , this year's cd that let me down badly is:
Finger Eleven-Self-Titled--Their previous stuff was extremely enjoyable, I heard "One Thing" on the radio, and I had to get it.. and realized every other song on this cd was 'blegh'. Avoid at all costs. D
And now the band that should fall off of the earth:
Simple Plan AND Good Charlotte--Yep, its a tie (i know alex, I know.. you don't have to say a word =P). These were two bands I used to actually like, but after hearing their new stuff, and going back and listening to their old stuff, I really wonder why I liked them. Good Charlotte-Change is still one of my favorite all time songs, but it can not save them. They really are two bands that myself, and I think everyone else, could live without.
