Namely, the Dir en grey concert last night was fantastic.
Kyo's voice wasn't in top-form (lol, so many off-key notes), but it was a damned good performance nevertheless. His little dance during "Toguro" caused mayhem among the fangirls. At one point, I thought he was going to do a Kyo (TM) Strip-tease when his hand oh-so-slowly and d-e-l-i-b-e-r-a-t-e-l-y wandered over to the hem of his pants and tantalizingly caressed down. Then he pulled his hand away. We sighed in disappointment. :D That aside, seeing Kyo sing was a great spiritual bonding experience. We were all entranced and held utterly captive by him. His every facial expression, every gesture made our hearts tremble. Okay, okay, I'm gonna stop now.
Toshiya was a total flirt and teased the audience, goading reactions like a master. He was a bundle of energy and bounced all over the stage, his adorable smile ever present. I must say that I was pleased his horrid half-buzz-cut from last year had finally grown out. Oddly, everytime I saw him, I'd always think there was a glow about him. Or were the lights playing a trick on my eyes?
What about the other three members? Uh... I was too busy staring at Kyo that I totally didn't pay attention? Kaoru was being his usual intimidating self and barely moved during the concert. Die was total Mr. Cool with his hair blown prettily by his personal fan. Shinya... unfortunately from where I stood, he was completely blocked out by Kyo. So, heh, no idea!
I thought the crowd was rather tame and pretty polite. There were some moshing and crazy headbanging on the left side of the theater hall. But don't think there were any incidents involving people passing out or getting carried out (thank goodness!). I was originally planning on sitting in the back section and just chill. But once Dir en grey came on stage, it was impossible to keep still and I dashed onto the floor to join the crowd. Plus, the energy in the back section sucked. It was mostly parents who pretty much was only there to make sure their 16/17-year-olds didn't get into any trouble.
Post-concert, I was deaf (I CAN'T HEAR YOU!) and my neck, arms, and feet sore. My throat wasn't feeling great either since I screamed so much (high-pitched fangirl scream FTW). Now, 24 hours later, my hearing is coming back and I've drunk a ton of water. My neck is still not doing well though. That will have to take longer to recover.
Ashok and Rus were good sports and came along to check out what rock concerts are like. I was surprised that they actually stayed for the entire duration. Hope it was an interesting experience for them as well.
