The most revealing thing about having a puppy is that it's made me realize that I have inherited my father's temper. It's only visible in the mornings before I have to leave for work, but it's there just waiting under the surface, and ready to boil over. Esp when she gets overexcitied and starts growling, biting, and snapping because she thinks me getting ready (or trying to. I have showered significantly less since having a dog) is a game.
I know it's not her fault. I know she's adjusting. And every day things will get better. Although at this point I'm wondering if I'm making things worse by letting her out to pee in the middle of the night or if she'll be able to hold it naturally yet. I take the water away about 30min before bedtime.
It's my day off and I am super tired. Graveyard shift tomorrow. On the good side, I'm now a 100% FTE...the trade-off being that I work 4 days and 1 graveyard a week. Luckily, Pele is cute enough that my friends have offered to Pele-sit on my graveyards. It'll also give both our dogs extended socialization time.
