For want of Vintage, the Rent was lost...

(OK, not really but it makes for a better title)

This weekend I spent the second largest sum of money I have ever put towards clothes at a single time: $230. Why? Because the Boot Hunt is over. All three oft-searched for pairs were waiting for me at Buffalo Exchange. Sadly, there are none of these amazing stores in the SE. Chapel Hill would thrive on one in a heartbeat. Just ask MLE.

A BRAND-NEW pair of knee-high Doc Martens for $60, a slightly worn pair of flat but sexy knee-high boots (from BARNEY'S NEW YORK) for $50, and a brand new pair of TredAir combat boots with decorative stars for $40. I'll be coating the stars in black light reactive nail polish for that extra touch.

Daily Boots, Dress boots, and Burning Man boots. I may be set for life.

On top of that, I scored a decorative crinoline mini skirt for parties, a Kenneth Cole skirt (covered in zippers), a sun dress (I can't believe I bought this dress. It looks like something that was rejected from the wardrobe trailer on the set of Clash of the Titans and the lace is all yellowed with age but something about it made me fall in love), and a new green blouse for spring. I still need an additional pair of jeans as after finding the boots I ran out of there before I spent more money. I couldn't pass up the luck of finding those shoes and all in the same place too!

I haven't had this sort of luck at a secondhand store since the summer I found the second half of the Fushigi Yugi series on DVD at a pawn shop for $10 and then found out it was worth about $150.
