It's that obligatory high school cliche
of falling in love with a boy who don't even know you exist
It's going in knowing your heart will break
but pretending you're stong and that you can take it
It's the thrill of the chase that will never end
It's the fun in the game, you know you'll never win
It's never even talking to him
But pretending you know him well
It's every time you see him
having your heart swell
It's the stories you hear of his loves past
It's the way you secretly prayed
that none of them would last
It's watching his band every Saturday night
and seeing his groupies, whom you want to fight
It's how one smile from him has you talking for weeks
It's the solitary tear that's rolling down your cheek
when you realize he really is that unobtainable goal
It's when he says your name
and those butterflies appear
It's the ever lasting fear
of him never wanting you
And it's all of the stupid things I do.
