Scene Unheard-uncuT

Jan 23, 2004 21:55

This song was written by some friends of mine, uncuT, about why they felt they needed to move to Chico. The song has a lot of meaning to me because the lyrics stem from a conversation Bob (their drummer)and I.

Verse 1: Sometimes it feels like your efforts are all in vain -- Sometimes you wonder if the music is worth the pain -- Some people have your back and some want to watch you fall -- Some people share the dream and carry you through it all

At night you dream of feeling love in your own home town -- For every one that's true there's two that'll let you down -- Look happy for your crowd but suffer behind the mask -- Before surrender there's a question that you must ask

Chorus: Did you ever want so bad that you could almost taste it?
Smell success and pray it won't be wasted?
Feel from the crowd that sings back every word?
This is a song from a Scene Unheard

Verse 2: Will this work out for you and what of the coming years? -- You play it safe till opportunity disappears -- How long to dream and put the rest of your life on hold? -- How long till brave and young dissolve into sad and old?

This is the life you've chosen and though the road is long -- Believe in dreams and know that chasing them can't be wrong -- Your Spring is fading so you do what you've gotta to do -- Responsibility can settle for I.O.U.

Pre-Chorus: You ask -- what makes it worth it? and
You ask -- why try at all? and
You ask me to explain this
Now I ask you...

Repeat Chorus

Tribute: If we should ever blow up
Or if we're forced to grow up
These are the days that we cannot forget
And through our lonely seasons
You were our best of reasons
All Ages RENO, we will not forget...

Repeat Pre-Chorus, Chorus, sweet harmony... end.
