Where did all the minutes go?

Just when I think it couldnt get any better, it does! Daylight savings time confuses me, then again, alot of things do. There is one state that doesnt have daylight savings time. Things must be simpler there.
So hanging out with the band is fun, but going to shows is even better!

Friday April 1st:

TSOL

The AKA's and............

The New York Rel-X

at CBGB's !

Oh man o man..... what a show. They played at CBGB's. God I love that place. I really dont know whats going to happen to it. It did so much good for so many people in the city and worldwide. There arent many venues that you can talk about and actually have people know what youre talking about. Whatever happens to CB's, im glad that I got to be a part of it for a while. Ive got to go there while I still can. Anyway, Jeff took us to see TSOL for Nikki's birthday. What a guy. We took the train there, it was the first time in a long time that Ive taken the train. Jeff was right, im really an excellent candidate for a mugger. I may look all big bad and tough. Actually....... I dont even look all big bad and tough, but i have no idea what the hell im doing most of the time and I cant defend myself allthough I did take Tae Kwon Do. So we met these really amazing people on the train. There was this really awesome guy that Jeff had met. Im guessing at a previous show, but he had this fifth grader with him that knew more about music than probably most of us. He starts talking about the Gorrilla Biscuts and how his teacher let him do a papper on Nirvanna and on the Misfits. He was so cool! I wish i remembered their names. It was nice that we had people to talk to on the train. Made the time go by faster. They were going to the show too so it was good times. TSOL's first New York show in years! how could anyone miss it? We got to the city rather early so we spent some time walking around. We ate at this amazing vegetarian type restaurant on St. Marks. Dojo's I think its called. Their food is so good. I suggest you all try it some time. I wanted to go music shopping so bad but my eyes are way bigger than my wallet and I probably wouldnt have had any money to get home. Went to Trash and Vaudeville. Always loved that place. cept for the fact that everything is so damn expensive. Seriously. stupid people complain about others for spending so much god damned money on their clothes, but those bondage pants wearing.... ripped shirt lovin punk probably just spent 200 dollars on his outfit. Nikkis right..... just make everything. its easier. just people are so lazy. I have to get my sowing machine back. I sold it i think. Imma buy one again and start making things. it will be good. So thats about it. we checked out St. Marks bookstore and the CB's gallery, both great places. I really must start reading more. I have a feeling college will do great things for me. Anyway........... on to the show!

So the show was amazing, I was there for a piece of history my friend. They'll be writting about this in the pappers. How many concerts have you gone to that you can say that about? The lineup went as follows: Void Control, the New York Rel-X, The AKA's and TSOL

Void Control: They werent too bad. Played a few songs without their bassist but they got it going eventually. I kinda liked them. I liked their guitars. Had a great sound to it.                                             They had a TV. What band has a TV? I found that odd, but oh well

The New York Rel-X: Holy crap, how can you say anything bad about the Rel-X? They are and will always be a favorite of mine. They've got the talent of Jonny Kray mixed with the extraordinary vocals of Erica who  I think used to sing for Banner of Hope. Then youve got Adi whose bass lines are amazing and whose passion for punk rock is unlike anyone elses. They played the old and the greats, plus they threw in some songs off their new record. I just picked it up that night and it is sooooo good. Shows so much growth from their other releases. The vocals are amazing, theyve got great guitar parts and really tight drums. The lyrical content is just really great as well. People should get their hands on that record. you really dont know what youre missing. They played my favorite songs, Shes Got a Gun and Sold Out of Love. excellent tunage. There was this really strange boy on stage, but boy could he dance. I was tired of only guys on stage so I got up and sang part of Shes Got a Gun. Whereabouts some guy shouts out "Dive!" Which would have been a very bad idea. So instead he pulls me down and I fall off the stage and land smack on my head. the back part of your head.... by your spine and everything....yeah it was bad. Boy did that hurt. If it hadnt of been for the insane ammounts of addrenaline running through my veins it probably would have hurt alot more. I had to sit out a few songs which I was pissed about, but I made it back for the good songs. Got to join them for Sold Out of Love too. but that time I didnt fall off the stage and it was nice. Adi thanked me and Nikki after their set, it was sooooo cool and completely worth it. I have nothing but respect and sincere admiration for that woman. She has kept the NY scene as active as it is. She thought up and organized Vive and Punknite. This girl is amazing and I hope that I can do that much for the scene one day. Theyre having some sort of a cd release/ DVD filming show on April 29th at CBGB's! so for anyone thats a fan i suggest you go. I dont think that I'll be away so im definately going if im not. But thats the Rel-X for ya

The AKA's: This was a show I never thought id see the AKA's on. I think that its so great how different they are but also how great they are and how well they can rock out with any band theyre performing along side. I love the fact that their guitarist isnt like "look at me and only at me and my catchy hooks and leads" He actually takes more of the back seat ride and really lets the keyboards and the vocals accentuate everything. I wish i knew more of their songs, but they definately recruted me as a fan after this show and I look foward to seeing them summore.

TSOL: Theyve been around for years. Probably since before I was born. Theyve made a name for themselves, had that name taken away heh...... and gathered fans all over the US and the world. They came back and played their first NY show in years and let me tell you, they havent lost a thing. Their fans are still singing along, the guitarists are still rocking out as loud as ever and the drums still make your heart beat to a different rhythm. Face paint and all these guys were out there doing it again. The crowd got crazy in the beginning so i made my way to the back and finally stood up on some chairs to get a better look. It was so amazing and I love their songs and melodys. It was a show I will never forget. Their encore was stronger than ever as they played to a sold out crowd. I wish I could have been there for their beginning. TSOL's first show at CB's. I wish I could have been there for the start of it all. It probably would have made me appreciate this so much more, but Im so happy for this opportunity. It was a great show and a great nite.

Next up........... Tsunami Bomb. :-)
