You are His
Love is Patient.
He's preparing me for you;
I can feel it in my heart
You must be someone incredible.
I can't wait to live as one.
Love is kind.
I want to bring you good all the days of my life.
Faithfully, I wait for you,
Saving all the secret treasures I can
Just to see your face, hear your voice
Accept these gifts with your soul.
Love never fails.
I pray for you.
The beautiful creation of man, God's man.
I wonder what your passions are in this crazy world,
The secret dreams, the chase of ambitions,
the explosion of joy.
Our commitment is for eternity
With irreversible vows, "I do."
Love Him with all your heart.
Put Him before me, whatever the cost.
He is the way to intimate love
I can't wait to watch Him live through you,
To see you rise early just to meet with Him.
Seek and you shall find his love,
And ours shall be joined in His.
Hold on to our Common Ground.
Wait for me, My Love.
I love this poem. No, I didn't write it, I found it in a Christian teen magazine.
Always around this time of Valentine's Day, my emotions like to be a little hard on me. I've never had a boyfriend, therefore, I've never had a valentine. Today, I needed to get out of my house, so I just got in my car and started driving. I went and looked in different shops, up and down hills trying to get lost. I thought a lot. The theme of each shop was of course hearts and cupids and the like due to valentine's day, which caused me to think even more so. I thought about all I have learned about realtionships by watching other people. Oh yes, let me tell you, I could write a book. Some are good, some are bad, but nevertheless, I wanted to share them with you:
I've learned that:
-Once you get a boyfriend/girlfriend, it is challenging to keep friendships that were existing before the relationship alive and going strong.
-If one puts God first and the other is unconcerned with that aspect, then the relationship will most likely fail.(There is biblical scripture to back that up also, let me know if you want to know where).
-You need to not be busy to actually have a relationship. As I watch couple's I think to myself, "But how do they have time? I can barely do my homework in enough time to get a good night's sleep, where do they fit that person into their life?"
-God's bringing you someone, so be patient, and don't hastily be with the first person to glance your way, God's timing is the most sufficient.
-Girls are princesses, we need to be treated as such.
-"The right guy is out there. I'm just not going to kiss a whole bunch of losers to get to him."-Josie Gellar, Never Been Kissed.
-From watching couples that form in high school, to those after college who end up marrying, it is highly unlikey that people marry the person they are with in high school.
There are many more things, but I feel these are most important.
Every year around this time, my church does this ceremony for the 7th-12th graders called "True Love Waits" where the parents give their teen a ring, and the teens make a commitment in their hearts and sign papers saying that they will stay sexually pure until marriage. It's a big deal at our church. I've worn this same ring on my hand since I was 12 years old. I will be 18 in 3 months, and I have never been kissed. You know what? I'm so perfectly content with that. No past, no regrets, no "if only's". People usually take "true love waits" for only meaning no sex until marriage. This is all forms of sex. Now, I'm pretty sure kissing is fine, as long as it doesn't turn into hot and heavy make-out session. Just like you don't want a hazy past, God doesn't want you to have a hazy past. Pure in all forms of the word.
I don't want to sound like a prude, just a Christian girls following God's commandments, and my own standards for my life. All of the things I haven't done, all of the romantic gifts I haven't recieved...He's waiting out there.
My prayer is that God's preparing him for me too.
