AAAACK! This is scaring me!! adj;alkd;ajdf;lkjRAR. Well...*swallows hard* maybe HBP is the book in which we get the R/Hr and H/G stuff out of the way. I hope not. But we won't know until July 16th, will we?? *teeth chatter*

I don't really buy or like the 'getting ron and hermione out of the way' idea. The idea of them together makes me cringe so much that I can't bear to think about it. I'm tryiing to repeat to myself that I will buy whatever JKR writes. I think it should be my mantra. In preparation. Just in case.

Dear, YOU wrote them together in BBB, remember? *pets*

Are we sure that's Ginny?

Yes, yes. I know. And, the first fan fic I ever posted was Ron and Hermione. I might have my H/Hr card taken away if that ever gets out! But, you see, those were written two years ago. Well before all the fangirls turned me off of Ron so thoroughly that JKR has quite a chore to win me back.

Well, I wasn't going to bring up strip poker, but I was going to point out that I remember you ranting about all the H/Hr shippers having a fit and being so completely squicked by the R/Hr in your story that they couldn't get past it to enjoy a good...what was the phrase, ah yes. "A good, plot driven story..."

Which, I believe, is what our beloved JKR is doing, regardless of with whom she ships Hermione.

Speaking of, had a dream last night about JKR. Shall post in my journal later about it, but unfortunately she revealed NOTHING. You and Judy were in it, as well.

Guh.

Meant: "is what our beloved JKR is writing,"

Big difference: Ron was dead in my story. Their interaction took place in the past. But, point taken.

And, as someone else wrote on another post, most people, including the author, are more concerned with other aspects of the plot. Not the shipping aspect.

lol. Yeah, I remember you killed off Ron. I was very concerned I wouldn't be able to get past that and enjoy your story, but as it turns out, I found a way. :-)

I consider the shipping aspect to be a red herring as defined in our Yahoo group.

something that distracts attention from the real issue

But I know you enjoy shipping and the great debate, and I'm not trying to undermine that at all. I'm just amused. :-)

I also consider the "who is the HBP?" discussion to be a red herring, since in the past books, the "and the..." part of the title tended to be the thing that SET the purpose for the book, but was not the big mystery OF the book.

I knew with OotP that the end quest was to reveal the prophecy. I have NO freaking clue what the purpose of HBP is. But I don't think it's to reveal who the half-blood prince is. That's just me, though. :-)

I think the purpose of this book is to give us the history, the backstory, so that Book 7 can be about what harry has to do to defeat voldie. So, the HBP, I think, is either Slytherin or Gryffindor.

I sincerely hope so! I would LOVE that back story. It fits with her comment about the graveyard at Hogwarts being revealed, etc.

Ouch. To paraphrase George from PoU "That was the worst joke in the history or bad jokes."
