[Oh. Yeah, he had kind of wondered why no one came back home after that. he figured they were all too chickened out to drag themselves back into his awesome and fearsome presence. Totally couldn't blame them. So the brat, butler, and prisoner were all gone, huh? Go figure.
[... Ridiculous. Why would he want some brat living with him? It was about time he started making this mansion a proper princess kidnapping mansion! What use would she possibly serve?]
[... well, someone has to walk the Chomp. And she was pretty good at taking care of Takano. And maybe he was kind of attached to her. She was very, uh, sweet. Like Peach. Not that he cared about that kind of stuff. Yeesh.]
Don't be stupid, Lizzie! You were supposed to report back in days ago! Stop slacking off and get back the mansion! I don't keep you around so you can go off and take a vacation any time you please!
[Yes, she wants to move back in. As incredible as it may be Bowser is the only thing she has left right now that would give her a feeling of security. She has no idea what she would do if she wasn't allowed to return, it's one thing to live without your parents and servants, to have to take care of the things at the mansion yourself and take care of everyone to your best ability... It's a completely different thing to live alone. Even if she moved to those apartments that were smaller, they would be huge for just her and would devour her in a matter of days.
So at first, upon being asked if she's serious, she fears for the worst, that she won't be able to return.]
[At first, Grell was going to gloat about having outlasted Ciel and Sebastian (twice!), but something about her voice stops the rant and instead, Lizzie gets a somewhat restrained voice on the line.]
[No, she's not. Ciel has been here since she arrived, he was the reason why she was able to get over having been dragged from her home, away from her parents and her brother. He was the reason why she managed to even be happy about being here, because she could be with him, in a place without work and duty and try to make him smile again, a place to which he had been taken but to which she could reach. It's not the first time she loses him, it's not the first time he goes somewhere where she can reach yet, but it hurts all the same.
She's not fine. And as much as she wants to keep it all inside of her she can't bring herself to lie now. She's not fine, but she will be.]
... I will be okay, Miss Sutcliffe. This is for the better after all, Ciel had a lot of work to take care of, vacations can't last eternally.
[She could say that he will be more safe there, but... That's silly, as long as Sebastian is with him Ciel will be safe anywhere.]
[Grell didn't think so. Even if the death god hated Ciel for what he did to turn the Madam, there was no denying that he was important to Lizzie. And Lizzie was a precious child - someone to be protected and someone Grell rather liked.]
You needn't put on the brave face forever, dear. But take heart, hm? I've seen them come and go before. Perhaps they shall return soon enough.
[She's a bit taken aback by that comment. Feels as if Grell saw right through her facade and that's something she has no real experience with. Maybe she wasn't being as convincing as she normally is but it's natural, this... It hurts a lot more than anything else.]
Yes... I've seen it too... Ciel always comes back, all I've to do is wait patiently for him to. And Sebastian is with him so... He's probably safe. So it's okay, I'm a bit sad but it'll be okay, Ciel doesn't like it when I cry anyway.
[Neither did her mother, or her father or her brother... She had to be strong and smile. Keep smiling and waiting. It's okay, it's not like that time, she knows where he is, she knows that eventually she'll go with him, or he will come here. And there aren't any nobles trying to find favor with her parents to get her engaged to their son in order to climb in society now that Ciel's out of the picture.]
[First Hungary and now Ciel. He's almost terrified that maybe one day he'll be stuck here all alone. But he quickly puts that out because no way is that happening. He won't allow it.]
[She's saying the truth, she will be fine. She's not fine now, but she will recover, she will be fine again, someday. It's a hope she has, just when Ciel disappeared for the first time years ago.]
I'm grateful for your concern, but there's really no need for it. It will be different without Ciel here, but Luceti can be a lovely place by itself. I'm sad he has left but I would have been sad to leave this place too so soon.

NO WAY!!!
[Poland's actually upset about this. He liked Ciel and thought they were friends.]

I apologize for this, Mister Poland, I'm sure that Ciel had no say in the matter. I don't think he would have left if he had.
[Or rather that he would have left without her.]

[There's not much else she can say. Or think, if she wants to avoid becoming a depressed mass of bones.]

Are you going to be okay, Lizzie? [He may not be your father anymore, not that he was in the first place, but he still cared.]

I will be fine, thanks Mr. Hakkai. Are you okay?
