Hummerpluim - nearest translation I can make of something scrawled on the front board over some physics-looking equations when I walked into Politics of Developing Countries this afternoon. Suggested definition - anything completely incomprehensible. For example, "I'm going to fail this class; I can't make head or tail of the hummerpluim my prof spouts all day." Suggested pronunciation: Hum-mer-PLOO-im.

Did I mention that I'm a nerd? I'm pretty sure I did. Well, I still am. I think it's getting worse.

Well, my first day of classes is over, and they all look like they'll be interesting and/or easy, except calculus. Cal looks like it'll be manageable. At least my prof and TA both speak intelligible English. But math and I do not get along. American Foreign Policy will be fun. Dr. Razi is pretty cool - he cusses in class and is a hard core Bush-hater, at least as far as foreign policy goes, which doesn't bother me in the slightest. Only 2 grades in his class though, so he'd better like me if I'm to get my coveted A. Politics of Developing Countries will be a piece of cake. I wouldn't even go to class except that Dr. Alcaniz takes attendance. And that's all for today. Now I have two hours to kill before I have to go to work. Maybe I'll study. Probably not.

nerdacious, school, words
