Things I Learned at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum

1. The cannon the Mexican army tried to take from the militia at Gonzales, kicking off the revolution, is really small, only about two feet long.
2. The war itself took less than six months.
3. At the time the city of Houston was chosen to be the Republic of Texas's first capital city, it existed only as an ad in the newspaper offering plots for sale. It had a really good name though.
4. The official fruit of Texas is the Ruby Red Grapefruit.
5. I've forgotten a lot of Texas history since 7th grade.
